Archives of Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Knowledge (AOSMAK) is an open-access peer-reviewed journal of Thai Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (TOSSM) MPFL Reconstruction using Superficial Quadriceps tendon Abstract Medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction is a routine procedure for patellar instability. However, the majority of the techniques require hardware fixation or bony procedure at the patella. Most of the complications describe in the literature can be attributed to patellar fixation. This surgical technique we use the superficial slip of quadriceps tendon (Rectus femoris) as the graft material, which provides a better anatomic math to the native MPFL and eliminate the patellar complications.
